What is Filecrunch?

Filecrunch.com is a free file hosting service which lets you upload files up to 250MB. No software installation or registration is required.

What benefits are there if I’m a Registered Member?

Only Registered Members can access the file management tool. Never lose the links to your files again. You can delete your files at any time. Your files will never be deleted.

How do credits work?

You will get 1 credit for each upload/download. Accumulating 3000 credits earns you one month of Premium Membership for free. The system will automatically upgrade your account once you have reached 3000 credits.

Is there any limit on the number of downloads?

There are no restrictions on the number of times a file can be downloaded. Our site runs on high bandwidth servers - make full use of the bandwidth!

How long will my files be on the server?

Anonymous files will be removed automatically if there is no download for 30 days.

Can I delete my uploaded file?

You can delete your file from the download page. Available only for Registered Members.

My file is bigger then 250MB. What can I do?

You can split it into smaller parts using WinRar. Right click on the file you wish split and select "Add to Archive" then a window will open. There is a tab saying "Split to Volume, Bytes". In the box enter a figure in bytes.

Can I choose not to let anonymous users browse my files?

Yes you can, just click on ’Make your files private’. Available only for Registered members.

How can I download a file FASTER?

All files that uploaded since 1st March 07 will support file resume and accelerated download managers like Download Accelerator Plus.

Is it safe to download a file?

We do not scan files for viruses, so we recommend that you scan each file with an antivirus before running the file on your computer.

Why I can’t store the files FOREVER?

Filecrunch is a free service for everyone to upload and share/store their files. A huge amount of hard disk space is needed. Files that are on the hard disk and not in use are waste of resources. So why not make space for other files?

Will hotlinking work?

The download link given will expire in a short time, so it will not work. Please use the file URL to download the files.

I lost my download link, what should I do?

You need to upload the file again and record the URL somewhere. Or register for a free account to access the file management tool.

Why is my com/xpi/vbs/exe/php/cgi/pl file renamed to *.renamethis?

All files can be uploaded into the servers. However we need to rename these filetypes when storing in the servers because of security issue.

I found someone has uploaded a copyrighted file, how can I report it?

There is a ’Report Illegal File’ link on the download page. Click on that link to send us a message. Additional information could help speed up the deletion of the file.
